National History Day

National History Day is a three-tiered competition for secondary students that begins at the regional level. The Lancaster region includes Lancaster, Lebanon and Berks Counties.

    Date: Saturday, March 14, 2009 (Snow date: March 28)
    Time: 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
    Location: Penn Manor High School
    Theme:The Individual in History
    Registration: Required through a sponsoring school or home-school parent
    Cost: $10.00 per student

How it Works:

Students in grades 6-8 and 9-12 work individually or in groups of 2-5 to create an entry in one of four categories:

    1. Historical Paper
    2. Exhibit
    3. Performance
    4. Documentary

    5. Website

2008 Regional Winners

Winners in each category will advance to the state competition.

Get Involved:

Teachers interested in sponsoring students should Contact Us for information early in the school year. Students generally begin their research in the fall to prepare for the district competition in April.
